Obituary

Coy Yutaka Mooso 68, passed away on February 11, 2026, in Magna, Utah.

Coy was born on July 16, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas, to Thomas and Dorothy. Coy was formally married to Judy Lee Mooso (Cutler) from 1980 to 2012.

Coy was a caring soul. He truly would give the shirt off his back (he did a couple of times). He would jump when someone needed help, sometimes before thinking about what it meant for himself.

He was a crafty man. He made crafts for his daughter and granddaughters' rescue. Coy had many hobbies such as Ukrainian Easter eggs, beading bracelets, crocheting sun visors, and origami, to name a few. He loved to sing in the senior choir.

He loved to do puzzles and read books. He had a never-ending run of stories, facts, helpful hints, or jokes to brighten your day. When you got him talking, he had a very strong gift of gab.

Coy is survived by his mother, Dorothy; siblings, Dale (Karen), Boyd (Greta), and Amy (Wendell); his children, Joshua, David (Natalie), Ruth (Dulain), and Sarah (Michael); grandchildren, Frederick, Jake, Ada, Mercedes, Ariadne, Darcy, Martel, Cosette, Persephanie, and another grandbaby coming later this year.

His funeral services will be on February 21, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm. It will be held at the LDS Wardhouse on 1250 Atherton Dr., Taylorsville, UT 84123.
