In Loving Memory of Thomas Vernon Chapman

“Cowboy Up”

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Vernon Chapman, lovingly known as “Tommy.” Tom was born on June 23, 1970, and gained his wings on June 20, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Tommy was a rough and tough cowboy with the biggest heart and a soft spot for his family. He loved the great outdoors: camping, fishing, hunting, and making memories with the people he loved. He listened without judgment and loved without question.

He was the greatest dad, papa-grandpa, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Tommy was the kind of man who always put others before himself and was there whenever someone needed him.

“Super” is an understatement when describing his strength, resilience, and will to live and love. Through every challenge, he continued to fight. Until his last breath, he never gave up.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Jody; his children Georgie (Kaylee), Sierra, and Cody; his bonus children Ashley, Shawn, and Ryan; and his grandchildren Kaydence, Nova, Hazel “Missy May,” Denzel “Little Man,” and many more, including one little one on the way. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy and Beth “Boomer, “and his “brothers” Robbie and Shane, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Linda and Eddie Chapman, and his sister, Theresa Dumas.

Though our hearts are heavy and eyes are wet, we will continue to carry Tommy’s memory with us through the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love he left behind.
